First Thursday is already here! While many people are packing up and heading to the hills to celebrate the 4th of July, don’t feel like there isn’t anything here in town to do. There’s plenty! Starting with tomorrow night!

This is by far the best week night of the month to stroll the downtown streets. Every first Thursday of the month downtown Boise, Idaho is the place to eat, walk, and enjoy. Events are held from 5pm-9pm. However, several eateries downtown get things started early at 4:30 with special happy hour pricing and other places groove until midnight.

The idea with First Thursday is to have an environment downtown that allows visitors to walk through different galleries, restaurants, and unique shops. It isn’t uncommon to hear a new artist strumming his guitar in the store you are browsing. The energy is electric with new artist’s showings, singing and patrons nibbling on samples of new delicacies.

If you aren’t exactly sure where to start, you can find a printable event schedule and map via the Downtown Boise Association. To get an idea of what you can find we’ve included some of our top picks for places to visit.
