BOISE AREA FORECLOSURES COMING…BUT AT A SLOWER PACE

BOISE, IDAHO – Idaho foreclosure filings were down more than 57 percent from the same month last year, according to RealtyTrac, a national company that collects data on the residential market.

In the Treasure Valley, filings were up 14.49 percent in February from January, down 47 percent from the same month in 2011.

Notices of default received by home owners behind on their mortgages by at least three months were 235 in February for the Valley. Foreclosure sale notices in the Valley numbered 302 of the state’s 500. Valley bank repossessions were 103 of 195 statewide.

One in every 718 homes had a foreclosure filing, RealtyTrac reported. Among Valley homes with mortgages, one in each 384 had a filing.

The company ranked Idaho No. 14, dropping it from the No. 10 slot it held in 2011.

This is further evidence the worse is well behind us. For Buyers “on the fence”, the time to move is now.
