STORE CONSTRUCTION ON SCHEDULE FOR NEW MERIDIAN FRED MEYER
Meridian continues its rapid growth. A 171,000 sf Fred Meyer store and a separate FM Fuel station are slated to open June 22 at the northeast corner of Chinden and Linder Roads
The building is now at maximum height and work on front entrances and the interior has started. The building is part of the 40-acre Eagle Island Marketplace, where underground utilities have been installed, and site and landscape work continue. The approximately $30 million store will have environmentally sustainable features such as LED fixtures in refrigerators and freezers and skylights to reduce electricity usage. Boise Premier is very excited about this announcement.
The grocery and department store, to employ more than 200, is expected to draw Eagle residents and others who now go to Fred Meyer sites farther away. The building has shop spaces for four tenants yet to be identified. The folks in Star and West Eagle will love this new Fred Meyer.
