HAS ANYONE ELSE NOTICED ALL THE BUZZ AROUND QR CODES? (THE ABOVE IS THE QR CODE FOR BOISECRIBS.COM.)
It’s all the rage in the big cities and just starting to show itself here in Boise real estate. QR codes are apparently going to be next evolution for all things real estate. Walk a real estate trade show floor or open a magazine and you’ll be inundated with opportunities to scan QR codes. In the major MSAs they’re popping up on business cards, home flyers, for sale signs, even on web pages (haha….which makes no sense to me).
If you don’t know what a QR code is, it is basically a bar code that you can scan with a smart phone application and it will take you off to the internet to view a web page, video, images, text, whatever. They are a personal UPC symbol. The QR means “Quick Response”.
Don’t get me wrong….QR codes are pretty cool. At the sign shop last week I heard of one Boise real estate agent who has a QR Code on his business card, car decal, and yard sign.
I see the value of QR Codes on yard signs. How nice for Buyers to scan the code and be taken to a personal property homepage. That’s technology working for you.
