David came from a long line of military, starting with his father that survived Pearl Harbor. Following his father's footsteps, David entered the Navy upon graduation and served aboard the USS Andrew Jackson SSBN 619, a Nuclear Submarine out of Holy Loch, Scotland. David's oldest son Loren, was in the 82ND Army Airborne, and his younger son Colter served in the USN Reserves.

After the Military, David worked for companies such as Toyota, Honda And General Motors for 30 years in the Pacific Northwest. Since moving to Idaho with his wife Barbie, whom he has been married to for 30 years, David and Barbie, who is David’s Un-Lic Assistant, started Bailey's Real Estate Group in the Treasure Valley. With David's 30 years of marketing/management and Barbie's 20+ years in the hospitality business, they bring a wealth of knowledge to their clients.

Back in the Seattle area, David coached Little League baseball and Barbie volunteered at their son's Christian school. Since moving to Idaho, David was the Chair/Co-Chair for Ducks Unlimited in Eagle for 2 years.

On any given weekend, you'll find David and Barbie, married now for 32 years, enjoying the wonderful Idaho lifestyle that you've been hearing so much about. Boise and Idaho just keep ending up on top ten lists, from safest city in the world (#8 by the way), to top ten hippest cities, and even best state capital to live in (#2). Life in Idaho is pretty special, and these two embrace it all! They enjoy walking the Greenbelt with their yellow lab Sonja, while checking out great little hidden gems along the way, from restaurants, to wineries, to cafés. During the summer they enjoy fishing, whether it's at Lucky Peak or on the River Of No Return, the Salmon River chasing chinook and steelhead salmon with his grown sons and soon his grandsons. Weekends are spent exploring Idaho, and in particular one of their favorite places, McCall.
